"Aenaos Poiein" (“Create in Eternity”) Works by Greek Composers dedicated to Thomas Tamvakos!
Athens Concert Hall, Thursday, May 8, 2025
How can one thank Thomas Tamvakos for his important work, his tireless persistence, and his work for so many years on the Thomas Tamvakos Greek Composers Archive! A job that concerns the entire Greek musical tradition, but also, one by one, all the contemporary composers who were fortunate enough to be officially assigned to compose a work! I am one of those who have received this honor many times, with many continuous assignments, recordings, and implementations. The CD "Aenaos Poiein" (“Create in Eternity”) includes my work "Hymn to One God" on a poetic text by Aeschylus from the original ("Agamemnon" stanzas 160 - 166) for 4-voice vocal or choral ensemble op.37, commissioned by the TTGCA Archive, in the excellent interpretation of the vocal ensemble "Philodos" (Olga Athanasiadou, Anna Mouzakii, Christos Giannoulis, Ioannis Idomeneos) from a concert recording at the Hellenic American Union Theater in 2007.
