Kaloy Youth Orchestra
The "Kaloy Youth Orchestra", the students orchestal ensemble of the Kaloy Conservatory/Foundation of Arts and Culture, was founded in 2020 by the Artistic Director of the Conservatory Panagiotis Theodosiou in the context of the needs of the partnership between his students, but also as a realization of the goal that the late founder Nikolaos Kalogeropoulos had from the beginning pose. The creation of a Symphony Orchestra that will contribute with its artistic and educational work to the cultural upgrading of the wider Corinth and beyond. "
On the way to achieving this goal, the Kaloy Youth Orchestrai is made up of students of all available musical instruments both of the respective Conservatory and of other musical institutions, such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Corinth and the lessons are offered free of charge by the Kalogeropouleio Foundation in the welcoming spaces of and with the artistic direction and teaching of Panagiotis Theodossiou.
The first positive and encouraging results were soon seen despite the difficulties of the pandemic of recent years. The members of the orchestra, aged between 10 and 20, are no longer just a working group within the student framework of the Conservatory, but mainly a "family" with a home in Kalogeropouleio. They come to the tests with enthusiasm and selflessness in order to "build" their sound, their character, but also their relationships in this wonderful group.
The Kaloy Yotuh Orchestra has performed at the Municipal Theater of Corinth as part of the 2021 Christmas celebrations of the Municipality of Corinth and at the Three-Day Contemporary Music Festival of the Center for Contemporary Music Research held in December 2021 at the Athens Conservatory. He also participated, following an official invitation, in the 16th International Festival of Aegina, as well as in the 13th International Film Festival At the 13th Film Festival "Bridges" while he musically covered the awarding of the winners of the Municipality of Xylokastro - Eurostin in the Higher Educational Institutions.
Kaloy Youth Orchestra accompanied the unveiling of the bust of Harilaos Trikoupis in the presence of the political, ecclesiastical and military leadership of the country. In the orchestra repertoire are included works by J. Strauss, E. Satie, G. Holst. D, Shostakovich, H. Purcell, H. Mancini, J.Williams. E. Bernstein, A. Newman, R. Strauss, N. Skalkotas and P. Theodosiou, arramged by Panagiotis Theodossiou.
